Shedboy asked:

A lot of golfers will have heard of the common names in the world of golf that make golf balls such as Titleist, Wilson, Top-flite and Maxfli but a lot of golfers will not be aware of a company called Bridgestone that make golf balls, in fact you may be surprised to know they have been actually been producing golf balls since 1935.

The current Bridgestone golf ball range consists of 7 different golf balls for different player abilities and needs. In the next chapters we will look at the range of balls and see what they offer to the average golfer and what they have specially been designed for.

The Bridgestone B330 golf ball is designed for golfers with good ability and who also have varying swing speeds, so if you are a low handicapper but have a fast swing then this ball can aid you. There are also 2 variations the B330-S and the B330-RX that have been designed to have different levels of spin and feel. A better golfer will look for a ball with higher spin as this allows them to stop a ball closer to the pin on a green.

The E7+ golf ball is designed to have a lower trajectory of the tee, so if you tend to hit your shots quite high then this can lower this and can hopefully increase your distance either off the tee or fairway. Obviously the higher the trajectory the more likely that a ball can be affected by the wind.

The E6+ golf ball is designed for people who have a tendency to either hook or slice the ball, this ball will hopefully help the golfer with the problems mentioned earlier hit the ball straighter and lets be honest for the average golfer thats usually half the battle isn’t it.

The E5+ golf ball is the opposite of the E7+ mentioned earlier, if you have a low trajectory when you hit the ball then is designed to enable you to hit the ball higher.

The Treosoft golf ball is designed for distance and accuracy off the tee, this is done by using a patented seamless technology , unlike other golf balls which use seams which can lead to inconsistencies with the flight and trajectory when hit.

That’s the range of Bridgestone Golf Balls quickly summarised and if they are good enough for Major winners of the calibre of Fred Couples and Nick Price to use them on tour then they certainly are worth checking out at your nearest golf outlet.

Shakil Zaman asked:

The driver can be without a doubt the most difficult club in the bag to hit. The reason for this is because it is longer and even the slightest swing flaw can put the wrong kind of spin on the ball resulting in either a slice or a hook. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when learning how to hit this club.

Tip 1: Maintain balance

Balance is critical in the golf swing because a balanced golf swing is usually much more accurate and on plane than an unbalanced one. One of the keys to staying balanced is to swing within yourself. You need to know your limits and then swing with control. Remember that it is not necessary to swing hard in order to hit the golf ball far.

Distance comes from making good contact and also from launching the ball at the correct launch angle and putting the right kind of spin on the ball. The formula for hitting a monster drive in the fairway can be rather complex but it is not impossible to accomplish.

Tip 2: Use proper equipment

The driver you choose should be based on your current swing speed. If your club head speed is under 100 mph then you need to choose a driver that has a regular flex and has loft greater than 10 degrees. If your club head speed is over 100 mph then a club with a stiff flex and loft lower than 9 degrees would be appropriate.

Tip 3: Build your wrist muscles

The wrist muscles play a vital role in swinging a golf club. Many tour players that look really skinny still have very powerful wrist muscles. This helps them to control the club and generate great club head speed. One way to build wrist muscles is to do wrist curls. Simply take some dumbbells and hold them to your side while standing and then move your wrists up and then down slowly. Make sure you feel your wrist muscles working and do not get other muscles involved in lifting the weights.

Tip 4: Practice

I hate to say this but there is no magic cure to hitting drives far and straight overnight, at least none that I have come across yet. The fact is that you will have to put the time and commitment necessary to learn the golf swing. This does not mean that you have to beat 500 golf balls a day. Rather hitting even a small bucket with focus and purpose on every shot can be effective done 3 to 5 times a week.

Focus on quality rather than quantity during your practice sessions. We all lead busy lives and most of us simply cannot commit massive amounts of time and energy to just golf so make sure you practice smart rather than hard.

Tip 5: Use leverage more effectively

There are a lot of tour pros that hit the golf ball a mile but they look really thin. Usually we would think that it is the big muscular guys that hit the ball far however in golf, leverage is the ticket to hitting the ball farther. Leverage is the angle created between the left hand and the club shaft on the downswing just before impact. You want this angle to be as small as possible so that the stored energy is released at the last moment and is transferred to the ball.

One way to create more leverage effortlessly is to think of the club as a whip and feel yourself whipping the golf club through the hitting zone. Also try to avoid getting your right hand involved in the down swing if you are a right handed player since this tends to result in casting the club or releasing the leverage angle too early, instead feel yourself pulling the club with your left hand through the downswing. Use some of these golf driving tips to help you hit the golf ball farther and straighter.

Boris Tomson asked:

How To Hit A Golf Ball Straight

Many golfers that are hooking or slicing the ball want to know how to hit a golf ball straight. Obviously this is the desired flight path that we are all looking to achieve as it gives you maximum distance. Also, when you can hit a golf ball straight down the middle of the fairway, you have a much easier approach shot to the green.Visit to : http://golfclub-review.blogspot.com

Why is it that many golfers find it difficult to hit a golf ball straight? First it is necessary to comprehend what causes the ball to move from left to right (a slice) or from right to left (a hook). If you know how to fix a slice or hook, you can then practice how to hit a draw or a fade which are useful skills to know so that you can shape your shots around hazards or dog-legs.

The following descriptions and instruction deals with the slice; for the hook everything is generally reversed. A slice is created by a significant tilt of the spin-axis of the golf ball to the right, or a clockwise spin. A slice usually ends up right of the target line, and the term is often used when the curve in the trajectory is extreme and unintentional. The less extreme version of a slice is called a “fade”.

When you understand the basics of the golf swing you will know that you have to return to the original place at impact if you want to hit the ball squarely and straight. When the club face is open at the point of impact, a slice will occur and the ball will spin in a clockwise direction. Generally, the swing path is correct but the golf ball is not hit squarely at impact; this is normally caused by a “weak grip.”

The first thing to check is your grip when you find that you can’t hit a ball straight. The one cause that can shape the path of the balls flight is the strength of the grip - it doesn’t matter if you use an interlocking grip, an overlapping grip, or a ten finger grip. To fix a slice, experiment with moving your hands around on the grip, over to the right, into a more strong grip position.

There are several other factors you can try to cure a slice. The first is not to grip the club so tightly that you tense up the muscles of the wrist and forearms. Also, work on increasing the speed of your golf swing as a faster swing speed will give you more distance and, most importantly, it will reduce the amount of slice that you pass on to the golf ball. You may be using the wrong flex of shaft which can affect your shots; if you hit over 250 yards then use a stiff or extra stiff flex, from 200 to 250 yards use a firm or regular flex, and under 200 yards use a ladies or senior flex.

The address position has to be correct if you want to hit a golf ball straight. You should line up for your shot with your shoulders, hips, and feet all square and parallel to the target line. When teeing off with a driver, the correct ball position is opposite the instep of the left foot. Also, the sole of the club should be grounded and not tilting forwards (standing too close to the ball) or tilting backwards (standing too far from the ball.)http://golfclub-review.blogspot.com

If you occasionally hit a slice or a hook, then go back to the basics of the golf swing. place your feet shoulder width apart, keep your eyes on the ball, knees slightly bent, and back in a straight position with your chin up. In this article I won’t get into details about the golf swing; but just start your back swing straight back and keep your downswing on the same plane. Your swing speed should stay constant throughout the backswing to the downswing and don’t ever try to over swing at the ball.

Lastly, there are an other two types of swing faults that will prevent you to hit a golf ball straight - the push and the pull. As opposed the slice, the push shot happens when the ball shoots straight off to the right, and the pull is when the ball goes straight off to the left. The push is a result of an incorrect golf swing when the club goes through an in-to-out plane, and the pull is an out-to-in swing plane. The push or pull shot comes about due to an improper golf swing action and forgetting the basics of the golf swing. http://golfclub-review.blogspot.com

Lavente Tan asked:

If i can find you nine good reasons why you should get personalized golf balls, you can buy me a cup of tea! Sometimes, getting something is nothing more than having a reason to get. The reasons are plenty when you dig hard enough and yes, here they are!

1. Easier identification of which ball is yours

2. Personal pride

3. Golf buddies ball exchange personal bonding

4. Leaving an impression

5. Pleasant memories

6. Lucky Charm

7. Wedding favors/ gifts

8. Personal Decoration

9. Show off/attention

Personalized with an impact and with a flavor, that is what personalized golf balls do. For those who do not know what exactly is personalized golf balls, let me explain the difference. They are often mixed up with the terms custom golf balls, logo golf balls, custom logo golf balls. They are similar but very much different at the same time.

Personalized golf balls are golf balls that are imprinted with your own name, signature, slang, slogan, picture, phrase or even decorations that remind you of something. It is very much for a personal use and has a tinge of closeness identified with it.

Many people have done adding that to their own personal collection of golf balls for many reasons i am going to show you nine useful reasons that you would love to have to get your golf balls personalized.

First - It makes ball identification much easier. In golf, we seldom play alone and much more often in pairs or a group. Some of your golf mates might use the same ball as you and with the same identification number too. Well it happens and do not be surprised. Personalized golf balls help you mark your golf ball with its own personal mark without hassle of identifying. Tools and accessories might get lost but not when you personalize them.

Second - It provides you with a sense of personal pride. If you achieved a hole in one with your golf ball and personalized it ( it could be the other way round ) , it gives you a sense of achievement and pride when you golf with your buddies.

Third - You can exchange with golf buddies. Why would you want to do that? Seems weird? Not at all! In fact, many golfers meet up with new found golfing friends to network around the world and even at golf vacations. As part of social interaction, some would exchange personalized golf balls to those they want to remain in contact with or personally like.

Fourth - Leave an impression with others. Give your personal caddie an impression never to forget. You can give the personalized golf ball as a gift to someone of the opposite sex or set a tone of authority when you use them when you play with others.

Fifth - Have a fond memory you want to keep and treasure? Mark your lowest score ever or your first birdie with a personalized golf ball. How about a personal first experience? Met the girl of your dreams at the golf course? Or maybe the name of your spouse on your golf ball will drive your scores lower and determination stronger!

Sixth - Talk about luck! Numbers come in handy when they are your lucky number. Add in your lucky number that might strike you big or save you from blushes! If you believe in luck and are superstitious, that is something you might do!

Seventh - How about wedding favors? Getting married is a personal once in a lifetime experience with a special someone. Ladies love it, and with your white golf ball, that is a real complimentary reason that you should love your wife as much as golf!

Eight - Some golf fanatics go crazy over different golf collections and golf sets by decorating their cupboards or collection room with them! They are a way to motivate and inspire someone if there is a special meaning behind it! That is why personalized golf balls are such a big hit.

Ninth - Love attraction? That is the best way to show off your personalized golf balls and your decorations of achievements! If you have won a tournament, a definite gift would be something to remind you and to show people what you have achieved! If you will beam from ear to ear from that, custom make your golf ball today!

That is all at the moment but i still have much more up my sleeve. Wait, what about my cup of tea? Keep it for yourself the next time we golf!

Someone asked:

I sell golf balls, and I recently realized there are alot of logo balls sold on ebay. I never thought about separating them out, but I am now… The only problem is I dont know what to price the logo balls at; does any one know of a price reference guide or something of the sort?
There are some logos that people collect, I am trying to figure out which ones they are so I can sell them separately.

Lavente Tan asked:

Hilarious? Buy golf balls to collect cob webs is just not what you might like. Especially when your store room is packed and full of others. You might be better off selling them cheap at eBay or even give it to your golfing buddy who might need them.

Do not laugh too much because you might be one of them. I will not be surprised if thousands of golfers have had the same experience buying golf balls and finding that they are not as good as they thought they were. In the end, the golf balls were left out in the cold sitting in their store room.

How many times did we leave it to trial and error and testing it out on the fairways? Yes, it is fun testing out a golf ball but definitely not fun when you spend $40 a dozen and only use one. What about the rest? Yes, cob web collectors in your store room!

It is common nowadays to spend on cheaper used golf balls before trying out the new ones. You will spend less money but still shelling the same amount of time testing one after another. Unless you are wearing your lucky red underwear, you might need to try 5 to 6 golf balls before finding one that you really do well in. That means 24 hours of golf ball testing spread out over a few weekends. Not forgetting the extra few games to reconfirm your analysis, it might take a month.

Some read golf ball reviews before buying the golf balls. Nothing wrong about that and in fact, golf ball reviews are rather good for helping you choose. But still, there are many unknown areas which is left unexplored in these reviews. Statistics like the reviewer’s handicap and knowledge of the game, profile and swing characteristics, game play etc are not known at all. Even the ground conditions and weather play a big part of the results. The only time a golf ball review can adequately choose a golf ball for you is when the player has exactly the same player profile as you. Highly unlikely? Yes definitely.

So what is the best way around that? To go through the hassle, i recommend spending a few hours reading and understanding all parts of the golf ball and all aspects of your golf game. That is when player profile and golf ball match.

If you combine cheap golf balls into the above recommendation, you will get a best way to save big money and storage space in your store room. Select the proper golf balls that fits your golf game and you will improve your score like never before.

Lee Dobbins asked:

Contrary to what many people think, all golf balls are not made alike. In fact, they are so diverse that there have been over 5,000 design patents for golf balls given in the last ten years. It may seem like they haven’t changed in decades, but golf balls are some of the most researched and advanced pieces of equipment in any sport today.

Selecting a ball that is right for the way you swing is critical to your golf game. As important as picking the right set of clubs, you need to find the type of golf ball that matches your style of play and your golf swing. Different golf balls have a different spin and a different feel. They are made with different cover materials and of varying density. Picking the one that works for you depends on your skill level and how you hit the ball.

The first thing you might look at is the compression of the ball. This relates to how tightly the ball is wound. The lower the compression the softer the ball. Softer balls are better if you have a slow swing, they will fly farther but are harder to control. High compression balls, on the other hand are easier to control but are best used by those with a fast swing.

To decide which golf ball is best for you, you can divide them into 3 general categories. The solid two piece ball is the most common and, of course, the cheapest. It is comprised of a hard cover over an inner core. This is a good ball for beginners which can often hit the ball thin or fat.

The three piece ball is multilayered. Softer than the two piece ball, it gives you more control but won’t fly as far. This ball is recommended for intermediate players as it will let you get more spin and control over your shots. The three piece ball is more expensive than the two piece but can add an edge to your play if you are past the beginner stage and looking for something to give you an edge.

The high performance balls can be rather costly and won’t last as long as the other types of balls. These balls are for the expert player who wants more control and spin than the three piece ball can offer. Although it is costly, this type of golf ball has what it takes to go the distance.
