….was made by Harold Edgerton in 1933. The ball was initially at rest and the club was shown to be in contact with the club for about 0.0020 s. Also, the ball was found to end up with a speed of 2.0 x 102 ft/s. Assuming that the golf ball had a mass of 55 g, find the average force exerted by the club on the ball

golf supply
Saito asked:

I have easily acquired from 2 to 4 cubic foot bags of various grades of perlite in locations throughout North America but an associate in the Texas Hill Country is having great difficulty finding such perlite in 20 to 60 bag quantities — or even small, large-bag quantities. (And he found it difficult to locate anything but tiny bags at retail chains.) It amazes me that in a hot and dry climate that would seem to beg for the use of perlite in lawns and golf greens would have perlite in such short supply. At first I thought he just wasn’t trying hard enough in his online searches but I looked on my own and even found the wholesale agricultural buyer-and-seller-matching websites disappointing. (I would get occasional emails from distributors near the Mexican border but they would respond to my listing but then prove incapable of communicating even the most basic grade information and price quotes — perhaps due to struggles with English??)

No, eBay has proven unhelpful because prices are much higher than I’m used to paying in other areas (eBay shows around $30 for 4 cubic feet bag at best and then a lot more than that for the shipping).

So does anyone in the Texas Hill Country have a good source for 2, 3, or 4 cubic feet bags of perlite (preferably fine to medium grade or mixed, if possible.)

I’m trying to figure out what to buy my husband for a golf-themed birthday. He’s got a set of clubs that were custom made for his father and he likes that brand (no idea who it is!). I just need to figure out what clubs I should be getting him. Well, he’s getting a gift cert. for specific clubs. What other things can I get him for his golf bag. Obviously balls and tees but I’m clueless about anything else!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
I won’t be picking his brand or anything. I just want to know what TYPE of clubs. You know, 3-wood, driver, wedge, etc. Thanks.

I go to Nascar races and sporting events and a lot of the tailgaters have these games where they try to throw the golf balls on a rung made out of plastic. Does anybody know what this is called and what the approximate dimensions of everything should be so that I can try to build it.

Justin W asked:

Would a serious golfer hit floating golf balls at an aqua range? or would you be afraid it would throw offf your game. Floating balls are 5% lighter than a regualtion golf ball. Aqua range consists of hitting balls into the water. Aiming for targets. Having the challenge to make a hole in one on a floating island.
