q T i p bonfire asked: If you walk eighteen holes, how many more calories would you burn if you pull your bag on a pull cart in comparison to carrying it on your shoulders?
Also, what muscles need to be worked to hit the ball further in golf? Before anyone says anything, I realize that accuracy is very important, and I’m very accurate. However, I’m very very short… my drives only go about 240 yards, and at 150 yards out I have to use a 7 iron. I’ve got no problems making pars because my chipping is plenty good to get up and down. But I do have problems with making birdies, because once a par four gets over 440 yards I can’t reach it. Just like any amateur I do have some problem holes sometimes, and I’ve got no way to balance them out because I can’t make birdies anywhere besides par threes, which are pretty tough for me to get anyway because I have to hit long irons into the greens and can’t be really accurate. I’m only 14 so I know I shouldn’t be expecting to bomb the ball 300 yards yet, but I really would like to add about 20 yards on to all of my clubs by next June, earlier if possible. So, what kind of workouts do I need to do to strengthen the muscles that control this?
I think that the other two of you guys missed the part where I said that I’m only wishing to drive the ball 260?
I can get up and down most of the time, what I can’t do is make birdies, and when I get into trouble (which is less and less often as I keep playing) on some holes I have no way to even out.
