the dimples might have given the measuring device a false-indication…if x dimples per second pass the measuring device and it is designed to measure 1 dimple per revolution, then the indicated RPM will be x times greater than the actual RPM. The sound is same way. I doubt if actual RPM was over 10,000

How else do you want to prove how fast it was spinning without using science? I suppose “it sounds fast” would suffice in your case?
