Does anyone in the Texas Hill Country have a good source for large bags of perlite? (2,3,or4 cubic feet each)?
I have easily acquired from 2 to 4 cubic foot bags of various grades of perlite in locations throughout North America but an associate in the Texas Hill Country is having great difficulty finding such perlite in 20 to 60 bag quantities — or even small, large-bag quantities. (And he found it difficult to locate anything but tiny bags at retail chains.) It amazes me that in a hot and dry climate that would seem to beg for the use of perlite in lawns and golf greens would have perlite in such short supply. At first I thought he just wasn’t trying hard enough in his online searches but I looked on my own and even found the wholesale agricultural buyer-and-seller-matching websites disappointing. (I would get occasional emails from distributors near the Mexican border but they would respond to my listing but then prove incapable of communicating even the most basic grade information and price quotes — perhaps due to struggles with English??)
No, eBay has proven unhelpful because prices are much higher than I’m used to paying in other areas (eBay shows around $30 for 4 cubic feet bag at best and then a lot more than that for the shipping).
So does anyone in the Texas Hill Country have a good source for 2, 3, or 4 cubic feet bags of perlite (preferably fine to medium grade or mixed, if possible.)

You can always order directly from a supplier. Here is one:
Check with these people as well; they can probably tell you where their nearest distributor is or sell directly to you:
Good luck and enjoy!
