DK asked:

I was just thinking..

Paris Hilton says she acts like a dumb blonde but is actually smart. I can believe it. I mean, yeah, she had money in the first place but now she has enough money that if she lost her inheritance she’d be fine. She built an empire out of herself - perfume, bags, TV, jewelery etc. She can’t possibly be as stupid as people make her out to be (or she makes herself out to be).

Doesn’t anyone resent it? The fact that the majority of society was fooled into thinking she’s a stupid little rich girl, meanwhile we’re the ones who fell for the “dumb blonde” act and she’s the one laughing all the way to the bank.

She fooled us, made money off of us and told us she is only pretending to be dumb, yet for some reason we keep her famous? (And yes, we as the public do control who’s famous. Demand and supply.)

Who else do you think is faking it?

Deep, deep down inside I think 50 Cent enjoys reading the Financial Mail and Time magazine. He loves Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky and a spot of golf on Sundays. He’s smart enough to know that smart doesn’t sell, so he sings about b****s, bling, money and thinly veiled songs about oral sex..
To Vanity: Firstly, she’s not heir to a throne. That would be a princess. Secondly, how many other heirs can you name? Excluding the Trump girl.. There are as many heirs as there are established companies. Therefore, being a heir does not equal fame, else we’d have plenty more famous heiresses.

To jadegirl: I don’t care about the celebrities personally, I’m interested in the illusion they create and why the public eats it up without question. No, I’ve never seen a scientist on Cosmopolitan but I have seen a scientist on Time Magazine. Both established magazines with well known people on the cover, both targeting different audiences.. So what is your point? Wanna see Britney Spears on the cover of The Wall Street Journal? No? Well I don’t want to see Richard Dawkins on the cover of Cosmopolitan.
