crgjamerson asked: I just got some of these cool Polara golf balls that reduce hooking and slicing, can somebody tell me how the dimple pattern does that?

The unique dimple design of the Polara is the key to its performance. With normal depth dimples around the equator and shallow dimples around the poles, the aerodynamics of the ball are such that the side spin which causes hooks and slices is dramatically reduced. Allowing the ball to “self-correct” and allowing you to spend more time on the fairways.
