Over time, golf balls will absorb moisture, and in turn lose distance. You can expect to lose 10-15% of your distance with 3 year old balls. Anyway, if you don't lose a lot of balls, I don't know why you feel the need to buy a bunch of them to save money. Will the $5 or so you saved per dozen really make that much of a difference 3 years from now? BTW, Anyone who can't tell the difference between 20 year old balls and new balls obviously isn't very good. I would ignore that post.
