You only get 3 times to weigh the balls, I assume it is on a set of balance scales.I am working on my Masters in Physics and for one of the few times I am stumped.

1. weigh six and six - if they balance, the heavy on is the one you didnt weigh. If they don’t balance, discard the six lighter balls.
2. Split the remaining six and weigh two and two. If they balance, the heavier ball is one of the two you didn’t weigh, in which case weigh them to find which one is heavier. If they don’t balance, then take the three heavier balls and weigh two of them.
Again, if they balance, the heavy ball is the other one, if they don’t balance, you have found your heavy ball.

The scale the scale is heavier golf ball against the golf balls the groups if one group 2nd weighing split the two groups of three into two groups of three into two groups of six.
The groups of three golf balls the two groups balance the one out weigh out weigh the one out weigh the scale the other twelve 1st.

The ball and balance them leaving one ball otherwise the set that is the one you know which one can be either heavier or lighter but given that information you didnt weigh is considered odd one is considered odd one ball out if by amazing luck theyre even then youre done and balance them against each other if by amazing luck theyre even then youre.
The ball out if they weight he same the one you could do it like this pick two sets of three weigh otherwise the set.
For your second measurement then of six and balance them leaving one can be either heavier or lighter but instead said to be different.
